About the Museum
Over 250 motorcyles plus a large collection of 1950s and 1960s cars and commercial vehicles. The museum is housed in what was an old farm building, situated on the east side of York near the A64. First opened Easter 1994, and since then we have continually improved the museum and its contents, the museum now has over 250 Motor Cycles and a treasure trove of motoring memorabilia. They also have section of 25 1950/60's cars and commercial vehicles, and like the Motor Cycles some have appeared on television. The majority of bikes are in working order and get used, some of them on television. The museum has an ARMY section, a POLICE section, a SCOOTER section, a TRAILS section and a FOUR WHEELED section. The British bike section has over 230 bikes spanning from 1918 to 1987. The Japanese section has about 40 bikes and there is also a good showing from the SIDECAR section. The Museum is constantly evolving and new exhibits may appear at any time. The museum's aisles are wheelchair friendly and drinks, both hot and cold, are available at the entrance area.
